Why CB Automate?

February 13th, 2009

If you are a publisher or an affiliate marketer, then you already know that there are many affiliate opportunities out there. There are good companies, as well as bad.

Google has been the giant of the online advertising industry for some time. When, I first got started in affiliate marketing I used their service for publishers, “Adsense”. The ad service was effective and reliable. Then, I went back and read Google’s terms of service again. I quickly realized that many of my websites were technically “uncompliant” according to Google’s standards. I own several websites, including a gambling forum and streaming tv site. I kept reading further and their TOS is filled with conditions. And here’s the best part: Google can and will shut you down and with hold your funds without giving any reason.

My next step was to email Google Adsense to get more information on exactly what I needed to do to come into compliance. They asked me to drastically change the functionality of one site and outright denied another. Fine, I thought. One website was not allowed and as I have many it was no big deal. So I changed the design of the other site.

I was constantly worried about Google killing my business model by shutting down my account at any time. I kept reading horror stories online about Google doing the same to other publishers.

Well, then it happened! My account approached the payout threshold. I had $93 in my account to be exact. Keep in mind it took me 6 months to attain that amount. I got a letter from Google:

Hello *****,

While going through our records recently, we found that your AdSense
account has posed a significant risk to our AdWords advertisers. Since
keeping your account in our publisher network may financially damage
our advertisers in the future, we’ve decided to disable your account.

Please understand that we consider this a necessary step to protect the
interests of both our advertisers and our other AdSense publishers. We
realize the inconvenience this may cause you, and we thank you in
advance for your understanding and cooperation.

If you have any questions about your account or the actions we’ve
taken, please do not reply to this email. You can find more information
by visiting

As you can see, they gave me no reason at all. I did nothing wrong - I had several hundred fraudulent clicks which I traced to the Netherlands at one point. I emailed Google immediately and the above letter was their response.

Needless to say, my websites that I had worked so hard on building now had no business model. It was a huge setback.

I started looking for other affiliates and I found new ways to approach old affiliates such as ClickBank. This story is the reason that I added an ad system to CB Automate. Now, I am glad that I no longer rely on Google. I don’t have to change my website to fit anyone’s rules and I don’t have a constant worry of Google cutting off my revenue stream at any moment.

With CB Automate, you can hand pick the products that YOU want to display. You can place as many ad zones on a page as you wish. You can offer a wider range of content on the websites where you display the ads. In summary, CB Automate gives you back the control of your online business!
